Income Protection Research
We will have meetings with you to discuss in detail your income protection requirements.
We ask you about any employer sick pay benefits you may be entitled to.
We will also ask you detailed questions about your occupational duties and working tasks, particularly about any areas where there may be an element of risk or perceived risk.
This detailed information is extremely important, and can make the difference in getting the agreement of an insurer's underwriter to offer the best 'own occupation' cover definition.
We record calls with life company's underwriters, so we can, if necessary, verify what was discussed with an underwriter. (Call recording, while common with large companies, is generally not carried-out by adviser firms. We record calls, as we believe this gives added protection to our clients.)
Once the research (which can take a few days) we will have a further meeting with you with a recommendation. You are, of course, under no obligation to accept the recommendation.
We will also produce a report for you to keep, detailing our discussions and the recommendations.
