Homebuyer's Report
A homebuyer's report is more detailed than a basic valuation.
However, it is limited in focus and there is little comeback for the borrowers in the event of serious problems encountered later. (Because of this, you may prefer to have a full structural survey.)
It is likely that major defects will be identified, giving the borrower the opportunity to obtain any necessary reports.
It is highly recommended that the valuation be arranged in conjunction with the lender to prevent duplicate valuation costs.
